Applications of integrand reduction to two-loop amplitudes in QCD

I will motivate and describe some new approaches to multi-loop amplitude computations.
I will present some recent applications to five-gluon two-loop amplitudes which made use of integrand reduction, generalised unitarity cuts and the reconstruction of analytic expressions through numerical evaluation over finite fields.
